Recent social media posts contain inaccurate information about an alleged “emergency meeting” and a supposed censure resolution.
There was no emergency meeting of the County Executive Committee and no resolution or vote to censure anyone. After Commissioner Rousseau’s public comments about our February 5 Candidate Forum, committee members exchanged texts about possible responses.
The consensus was to take NO FORMAL ACTION and instead have three Executive Committee members meet privately with Commissioner Rouseau to hear her concerns directly.
The February 5 Candidate Forum was planned and run by the precinct chairs and volunteers (the County Chair recused herself since she is in an opposed race). Questions were taken anomymously on index cards by attendees, screened ony to remove duplicates and type written cards.

We share Commissioner Rousseau’s desire for civil discourse. Our focus remains on informing Republican voters and running a fair, transparent primary. We encourage everyone to watch the Forum videos and make their own decisions at the ballot box on March 3. Early voting begins Tuesday February 17.
