It seems the bruhaha of congressional redistricting in Texas and voting precinct redistricting in Aransas County has come to a point where we can proceed with voting precinct redistricting while waiting for the Supreme Court of the United States to make a permanent decision on the stay of the decision of the District Court and later the merits.
WHAT?
In short, at the December 4, 2025, special meeting of the County Commissioners’ Court, the new voting precincts will be conditional approved so the County can move forward with filing of precinct chairs and the mechancis of voting for US House members.

The New Voting Precincts
First – your County Commissioner for your precinct has not changed. What has changed is the divisions within those precincts with respect to voting. Since we are a county-wide voting county, we will still have four voting places on Election Day as we have had in the past. The big change in the ballot-form.
In short, the ballot-form requirements in the Election Code do not allow a voting precinct to be represented by more than one Congressional Representative. There are other offices for which this applies but we will not discuss this at this time. More information is available at Texas Election Code Section 42.005.
The new voting precincts are shown in the images below. I added the text boxes to note the new precinct numbers and which would be covered by which Congressional member.
The new voting precincts 101 and 102 are presented below. The colors for these precincts are a combination of light yellow and pink. The dividing line between 101 and 102 is HWY 35
Voting precinct 201 is presented below. This precinct is the same as the previous precinct 2. Precinct 2 is gold in color
The new voting precincts 301 and 302 are presented below. The dividing line between 301 and 302 is HWY 35 until it meets Church St (Loop 70). The dividing line then goes south until it meets HWY35 and then contionues south on HWY 35 to the southern border.
Precincts 401 and 402 are presented below in two graphics. The first shows the southern portion of 401 and 402 while the second shows the northern portion. The dividing line between 401 and 402 is HWY 35
Filing for Voting Precinct Chairs
Changing of voting precincts presents unique challenges to who the current Precinct Chairs are and which Chairs are vacant.
As per Texas Election Code, the following Precincts will have incumbents Chairs for the March 2026 primary elections with the precinct chairs elected taking their chairs at the end of the State Republican Convention:
Assuming no changes before the Commissioners’ Court special meeting on December 4, we can finally begin filing for Precinct Chairs after the meeting. I will be at Bella La Brew (2818 Hwy 35 N, Rockport, TX 78382) at 2PM until the shop closes to receive filings. At this writing, it is unknown if there will be a Notary Public available. If you would like to file for a Precinct Chair position and will not be available during this time, please email me at katyjax35@outlook.com to set-up a mutally agreeable time and place for filing.
I will also be available for filing on December 8. Location has not been detemined and beginning time has not been determined. The end of this time will be 6PM as required by law.
