Early Voting begins October 21, 2024, in Texas. It is time for the final push to get people out to vote no matter where they are.
Being Republicans, we tend to not want to go to people’s doors to Get Out the Vote nor do we really want people to come to our doors. With technology, we can contact people without going to their house or stopping them on the street.
If you are confortable talking about voting to people in person, by all means do it. Wear your Trump hat or shirt when you are out and about and talk to the people who like what you are wearing. Get the conversation around to voting at meetings you go to.
First, we all have a way to call our family and friends. I suggest you start from the top of the address book and move all the way through it. Have a chat and lead it to voting and Bank the Vote (please read my blog here for information on Bank the Vote and Too Big to Rig). Ask if they would like to help Get Out the Vote. We need to get as many people as possible contacting friends and family to get them to vote.
- If they are absentee balloting, have them return the ballot as soon as possible. Our County Election Adminstrator said he is already receiving absentee ballots at a rate of about 25 a day. Getting absentee ballots back quickly is part of the Bank the Vote push President Trump and others talk about.
- Ask if they have a plan to vote in person. Suggest they vote during early voting. Early voting is also part of Bank the Vote. I have placed a graphic below which has all the voting location information for Aransas County for early voting and Election Day. If chatting with people in Texas, early voting starts October 21 and ends November 1. Some states have already started early voting, check out https://www.usvotefoundation.org/early-voting-dates for early voting dates by state. As we have seen in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina, a disaster can strike any time. Urge your friends and family to vote early in case of an emergency or disaster.
Second, text those you cannot call or text instead of call.
- For those of us with a bizillion contacts in our address books, texting may be a better option for contacting some or all of your contacts.
- When texting, do not use the same text for every person you text. Change a word here or there. If you text many people and do not change a word here or there, your phone number could be flagged as spam. A good way to change the words it to start the text with the person’s name.
- Keep the text short. I know I am less likely to read a lengthy text and many people are the same.
- A possible script: “Hi <name>. I am urging you to vote in the upcoming election. If you have an absentee ballot, please return it. Please consider voting early. If you need more information, please call and we can discuss.”
- When texting someone whose political affilation is unknown, the above script would keep the text non-partisan. Voting is everyone’s most important civic duty. If you know the person is a Republican, add this: “Please vote Republican in all races on the ballot. We all must vote to Save America.”
Third, send an email. Feel free to use this blog.
Ladies and Gentlemen, we must do our part to Save America before we lose everything to the marxists and communists we are working against. It may be too late to change anyone’s mind on the other side of the aisle, but if we can get people on our side to vote, we are doing everything we can to put Donald Trump back in office, keep Ted Cruz, Michael Cloud and Todd Hunter in office and ensure the Texas Supreme Court and Court of Criminal Appeals stay 100% Republican and, finally, shift the 13th Court Appeals from 50% to 100% Republican
